Through the power of music, Augustana Arts illuminates the soul and connects communities. In changing times, we honor the past and explore the future with a spirit of innovation. With this simple yet galvanizing vision as a guide, Augustana Arts fulfils its mission to create opportunities to inspire and educate through music. Augustana Arts began its pursuit for excellence and innovation in 1997 having begun as a program of Augustana Lutheran Church, presenting a broad range of classical music performances. In 2002, City Strings was founded to bring the power of music education to the least fortunate children in Metro Denver. In 2003, Colorado Women’s Chorale (CWC) was formed giving expression to the centuries-old art of the all-female choir. Women from across the Metro area come together every performance season to share their love of singing as well as their great talent with the community. Building on the success of CWC, Colorado Men’s Chorale (CMC) was created in the spring of 2016 providing the perfect complement to the women’s voices as well as the full array of Augustan Arts programming. Although small in stature Augustana Arts is a true community arts organization, proud of its ability to present significant artists at affordable prices.
